Friends of WPLM
Our Friends group is a non-profit organization of local individuals who share a common belief that a good library/museum is essential to the intellectual and cultural growth of our community. We believe that having a strong public library and a local history museum are extremely valuable community assets. The Friends of WPLM, established on September 1, 2012, is a 501(c)(3) organization that helps support WPLM.
Our Friends group strives to help our community continue to improve.
Potential Projects:
- Offer books, activities, crafts to help parents be their child's first teachers
- Help students find books to meet their needs and interests for learning and leisure
- Provide fun and educational opportunities for youth after school and during the summer
- Provide educational programs for teens and adults who want to learn new skills
- Host educational programs for adults that focus on health, gardening, history, and other topics
- Preserve local history with archival resources and procedures and restore items in the collection
- Provide support for genealogy research with databases and local information
- Promote interest in preserving our local history through rotating displays
- Partner with others to maintain an outdoor education space behind the facility
- Partner with other community organizations to educate the public and make our community a better place to live

Donations can be made to the Friends of WPLM any time in someone's honor or in celebration of a special event.
